One of the Seven Wonders of The World

Lhavaria, a city that was once on a continent called Lhavia, was a prominent nation during the Greungeria Era. For unknown causes, the civilization had submerged into the Southern Alpine Ocean, near the Gulf of Varleqe, which is now home to Merfolk, like mermen, mermaids, and sea creatures.

Lhavia, A Prominent Land

In the Era of Greungeria, the City of Lhavaria resides on an island near Varleqe, which was once an aspiring city that held ancient technology like Teleportation Crystals, Sea Magic, and of the sort. A rather unfortunate event left these technological advancements useless, along with Sea Magic.

Sea Magic

A sub-alteration power of Elemental Magic, Water Magic. Sea Magic mainly manipulates sea creature life, plants, and of the sort. It's a type of derived magic that was altered back in 35 Oldendaye.

The Fall of Lhavaria

The exact circumstances surrounding Lhavaria's descent into the ocean remain a subject of scholarly debate. Historical records from neighboring nations suggest that catastrophic magical instability occurred during the late Greungeria Era, approximately 47-50 Oldendaye. Witnesses from distant Varleqe reported seeing strange auroras over the island, followed by violent tremors and massive tidal surges that swept across the Gulf.

Some theories propose that the city's extensive use of Teleportation Crystals and Sea Magic created a rift in the natural magical currents, destabilizing the very foundation of the land. Others suggest divine intervention or an ancient curse. What remains certain is that within a single night, the entire landmass of Lhavia—along with its people, technology, and magical innovations—vanished beneath the waves.

Modern Lhavaria: The Merfolk Kingdom

Today, the ruins of Lhavaria serve as the capital region for a thriving Merfolk civilization. The original architecture, though weathered by centuries underwater, remains largely intact, preserved by residual magical enchantments that were woven into the city's construction.

The Merfolk have adapted the ancient structures to their aquatic lifestyle, transforming plazas into coral gardens and repurposing the grand halls as gathering spaces. However, large sections of the city remain sealed or inaccessible, protected by magical barriers that even modern Merfolk magic cannot penetrate.

Teleportation Crystals

Before the fall, Lhavaria was renowned for its mastery of Teleportation Crystals—rare magical artifacts that allowed instantaneous travel between fixed points. The crystals were believed to be attuned to specific locations through a complex ritual involving Sea Magic and elemental harmonization.

When Lhavaria sank, the crystals' connection to the surface world severed, rendering them inert. Fragments of these crystals can occasionally be found washed ashore near the Gulf of Varleqe, though they hold no magical properties in their broken state. Collectors and historians prize these fragments as relics of a lost age.

Expeditions and Legends

Surface dwellers rarely venture to the depths where Lhavaria rests, as the journey requires powerful water-breathing enchantments and protection from the immense pressure of the deep ocean. Those who have made the descent speak of an eerie beauty—streets lined with bioluminescent coral, ancient statues covered in anemones, and the constant sense of being watched by something ancient.

Legends persist among sailors that the spirits of Lhavaria's original inhabitants still linger in the ruins, unable to move on from their sudden demise. The Merfolk neither confirm nor deny these tales, though they avoid certain districts of the city entirely, particularly the former temple district where Sea Magic was first developed.
